Case Study: Excessive Coughing

One example of how energy work can support physical well-being comes from a client who had been experiencing persistent coughing for several years.

Background

  • Challenge: Persistent, uncontrollable coughing

  • Symptoms: Difficulty speaking or taking deep breaths without triggering coughing. This affected his daily life, making social interactions and quiet environments uncomfortable.

  • Duration: Approximately 5 years

Session Approach

Although initially skeptical of energy work, the client was open to exploring a new approach. During the sessions, I focused on working with the subconscious mind to explore potential energetic and emotional patterns that might be connected with his physical experience.

Through this exploration, it appeared that certain areas of the lungs were holding patterns of tension and stress. We also observed that his lifestyle included long periods of overwork, with little rest or recovery, which seemed to coincide with the areas of tension in his lungs.

The sessions focused on:

  1. Gently connecting with the subconscious to explore areas of tension

  2. Supporting energetic release in the areas corresponding to the lungs

  3. Encouraging relaxation and balance throughout the body

Observed Outcomes

During and after the sessions, the client reported:

  • Feeling lighter and less restricted in the chest

  • Greater ease when breathing

  • Reduced instances of coughing during conversation

  • A general sense of increased comfort

He also noted that the physical sensations in his lungs felt less “full” and more open. A follow-up discussion a week later indicated that the coughing had reduced significantly, though he acknowledged there were still layers that might benefit from further exploration.
