EFT Tapping

What is EFT Tapping
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. It's often called “tapping” because it involves lightly tapping on specific points on your body’s meridian points—the same points used in traditional Chinese medicine—while focusing on a problem or emotion.
It’s considered a type of energy psychology because it aims to balance your body’s energy system to reduce emotional distress. People often use it for stress, anxiety, trauma, cravings, phobias, or pain.
How it links to health
Emotions Get “Trapped” in the Body
Psychology and energy medicine suggest that unprocessed emotions like fear, anger, grief, or shame can get “stuck” in the nervous system.
These trapped emotions don’t just affect your mind they influence your physiology. For example:
Chronic anger → tension in shoulders/neck, elevated blood pressure
Suppressed grief → weakened immunity, fatigue
Anxiety → digestive issues, insomnia, rapid heartbeat
The body essentially remembers the unresolved emotional experience, keeping the nervous system on alert.
How Trapped Emotions Lead to Ill Health
Stress response stays activated: Trapped emotions keep the fight-or-flight system switched on, causing chronic cortisol release. Over time, this leads to inflammation, digestive problems, and lowered immunity.
Energy blockages: In energy psychology, blocked emotional energy can interfere with the body’s natural flow of energy (meridians), which may show up as pain, tension, or disease.
Psychosomatic patterns: Your mind can trigger physical symptoms when emotions are not processed. For instance: tension headaches or stomach ulcers may be linked to unresolved anxiety or anger.
Essentially, the mind’s unresolved conflicts create a physical imprint.

What EFT Tapping does
EFT helps with health by releasing internal, trapped emotions that cause dis-ease and disharmony in the body. By tapping on the meridians, EFT engages the nervous system and releases the trapped emotional energy, restoring balance in the nervous system and allowing the body to return to a state of harmony.
By clearing these emotional blockages, EFT not only reduces psychological stress but also supports physical health, helping the body recover from tension, pain, or stress-related illness.
How we use this in sessions
In an session, the focus is on bringing awareness to the emotions behind your issues like anxiety, fear, anger, or trauma. By tapping on specific meridian points while concentrating on these emotions, the session helps release trapped emotional energy.
This release often reduces emotional intensity and can also alleviate physical symptoms that were connected to those emotions, such as tension, pain, or stress-related illness. Sessions may also include replacing negative emotional patterns with positive affirmations, helping the mind and body reset.
In short: EFT sessions help uncover and release stuck emotions, calming the nervous system, easing emotional distress, and often improving physical well-being.
